Good Morning to all from Kuwait...

Have you ever wondered how the military gets around? Believe me you don’t want to know because it’s boring with all the hurry up and wait! However, if you ever have the opportunity to spend the time with these amazing Warriors I suggest you do it just for the experience. You will gain a tremendous amount of respect for them, their job and their families too.

The flight over to Kuwait was a long one. The best part about the trip was the very special stop along the way into Bangor, Maine for refueling and change of crew. I had heard about the greeters at this airport from many a soldier, sailor and marine on their way home from the Middle East, but never expected to experience this amazing energy first hand. These men and women of all ages, civilian and former military, were so sweet and kind to all those in uniform walking off the plane. They were handed cell phones to call home, given a much needed hug or encouraging chat. I took a few pictures of these patriots but have not downloaded the pictures to the laptop as of yet. I promise to do that before the next post.

Since coming into camp Tony and I were separated, he with the male junior officers and I have had the privilege of getting to know the female Marines. It has been an honor to be around these special ladies... the way they sling their gear around is just amazing. Not a grunt or a groan can be heard from any of them. Now me on the other hand YIKES... how do they do this every day? These ladies can surely cover my Six any day of the week, more about them later on.

Now that have gotten to know the system here I will try my best to post more often before we head out again.

Well another load of tired Marines just came in who are heading home soon. They get priority in my book, so I am going to sign off and allow them to communicate with their families while I walk back to the barracks and catch some sleep.
