Every so often American's need to be reminded just how many sacrificed and died so we could be free - "All For Liberty" is that REMINDER!
There comes a time in everyone's life when a movie so moves me, emotionally, that long after the credits have been shown, I can't stop thinking about it. Some will say it's the wonderful acting, dramatic action, dialogue or the colorful costumes. Those are normal reactions to any movie. For this reviewer, it's the message within the storyline that moves me. Dialogue in any movie is important, but when a single line or phrase strikes a cord within my soul, it's not just good writing, its divine providence.
I love history, therefore, I gravitate to movies that surround it. Recently, I was introduced to an Independent Film called "ALL FOR LIBERTY from Moving Images Group, a division of Actors Theatre of South Carolina and Coral Gate Media LLC. (Release date 2009). When I first picked up this DVD, I thought it was going to be just another historically based movie about hte American Revolutionary War's fight for Independence; then I learned the story behind this amazing story.
"ALL FOR LIBERTY" is based on the true story of one man - a German-Swiss immigrant who was brought to America in 1735 at a young age, forged a life in the backcountry of South Carolina and rose to the rank of Captian - Henry Felder. The story focuses on the price Captain Felder, his family and his community paid for their determination to resist tyranny during the long bitter fight agaisnt the British Empire during America's war for Independence.
After the movie credits finished rolling, I felt compelled to visit it's website to learn more about this story; what I found brought me to tears.
The lead actor portraying Henry Felder is none other than Clarence Felder; veteran of Hollywood, television and Broadway. Clarence Felder just happens to be a direct descendent of Captain Felder. With a love for history and his family's connection to the war for independence placed Felder on a journey to rediscover this courageous man's forgotten heroism. As an author of history, I was brought to tears to discover these two men were related. What a beautiful tribute to bestow on an ancestor by honoring their memory, their accomplishments and the sacrifices he and his fellow citizens endured for our liberty.
This movie is not just about one family and its bravery; it's about all the people who were involved in creating a nation free from oppression and tyranny. One line puts this movies message into perspective and keeps repeating in my mind - "Names you never hear of - It is people such as these. The one's you neer hear of. The names you'll never know. No statues or monuments honor them. But without them, where would we be. I could only talk about liberty, they were willing to die for it."
I hightly recommend this movie to all PATRIOTS across America now more than ever before in History. Visit http://www.allforliberty.com/liberty/store/ and obtain your copy of this amazing tribute to those who helped give us our independence. It's only $15.00 plus s/h and worth every penny.
Veteran Actress of both screen and stage, Chris Weatherhead together with Award Winning Director/Screenplay writer Ron Mangravite and Clarence Felder, have created a realistic portrait of America during its figh for freedom and independence from the British Empire. OUTSTANDING JOB! Five Stars Given by this reviewer.
ALL FOR LIBERTY is the winner of 7 international awards, including a Special Jury Award, 2009 World Fest Houston; Best Actor (Clarence Felder), 2008 Accolade Awards and the Audience Award for Best Feature Film, 2009 Charleston International Film Festival.
