In 1776, in defiance of an oppressive King, fifty-six men,
representing those in the thirteen colonies, took a stand, placing their lives,
their fortune and their sacred honor on the line to declare Independence.
Throughout history, many have taken a stand in
protection of the Declaration of Independence, the Bill of Rights and the
Constitution, but no man has ever taken a stand and questioned the legitimacy
of a sitting President of the United States to hold the office in which he
occupies. One man, Terry Lakin, dared to make history while as an officer in the United States Army, he questioned
the holder of the office of the President, and sacrificed everything in the end
- his rank, his pension and the career in which he valued more than life. Lakin is the only soldier to have stood up to both military and political pressures for failing to report for duty, because he questioned the very orders rendered by an elusive Commander in Chief.
As an officer in the military, Lakin took an Oath to defend
and protect the United States Constitution and those in which it was designed to protect - the American people. Lakin's responsibility, as an officer, was to follow orders
given, but to also question any orders he felt were questionable. Lakin had deployed many times throughout his career, but when he received orders to deploy to Afghanistan, he felt the orders were unlawful. Lakin didn't run and hide from these orders, instead he
took a stand and questioned the issuing authority, the President of the United
States. After all, it was a question of honor and duty. Lakin
felt so strongly in his convictions and principles, he was willing to sacrifice
his military career to uphold his oath; would you be willing to do the
same?
"Officer's
Oath" is a must read, because it explains clearly what the media failed to
research. Follow Lakin as he embarks on a fight for his life, loss of his military
career, and a future yet unknown for him and his family. The authors, Lakin, Cashill and Mercaldo held
nothing back, so I recommend to anyone serving in the military of the United
States of America, read this book before you cast your vote on Election
Day. The "Oath" you took upon
entering the military will take on a whole new meaning after reading this
book.
