Social Security goes up a big 2.5% (about $20 bucks per
month) and with that increase so does a senior citizen's rent by approximately $20
a month. So that means no true relief for
the person at all. Then you calculate food costs that are constantly rising and
making food basically unattainable for the senior citizen making it impossible
not to go on Food Stamps to survive. Throw in the fact that the government who
just gave them the measly 2.5% increase in social security further disrespected
and slapped them in the face as the government decided to reduce the food stamps
based on the increase in social security, not taking into account the rent just
went up. Talk about a slap in the face and utter disrespect to the person
trying to survive.
